Wedding videography is becoming more and more common to include, however couples still fall for the myth that videography is a want versus a need. I fell for this myth to. Though we still hired a videographer for our own wedding day, we didn’t think it was necessity like photography is. So today, I’m going to “de-bunk” this myth and explain why videography is a MUST HAVE.
Adding Audio. Our films are going to be heavily audio based because of how important that is. A wedding highlight video set to an awesome song is still nice, but audio is what leads the story of your day. To be able to hear your actual vows, along with the laughs, and comments from friends and family members is so powerful. You can’t get audio with photography. So if remembering what your grandmas voice sounded like, or the vows you made to each other, or the jokes made during toasts is important to you, then hire a videographer!
Pictures, might be able to “freeze” a moment in time, but videography captures longer emotion giving you the full experience of re-living your wedding day. Now don’t get me wrong, photography is a must as well. That is why you need to pair the two together. Frozen moments, along with movement and audio makes it so you accomplish fully reliving the day. Just photography or just videography only gives you half of the experience.
With Covid, a lot of family members haven’t been able to come to weddings. Wedding videography is an easy shareable way, to let family members who weren’t able to make it, see your wedding day! They can be more a part of the day since video is more interactive. For your future generations as well, they are more likely to watch your wedding video than looking through a gallery of 500 images. That said, get a wedding album thats curated with the best of the best pictures from every part of the day to show your kids more easily. Wedding albums are an entire different blog post i could write, so I’ll leave it at that!
