The best $16.99 Robert ever spent was when he signed up for Ldsplanet so he could flirt with my Mom. The site doesn’t let you send messages unless you subscribe. So, after looking over Ne’Cole’s profile a BUNCH, he made the investment and got a wife. But, not until a year later. Technically their first date was August 2nd, 2019. They went to a bar in Hood River Oregon, where they played the board game trouble. After losing 3 rounds to my mom, Robert was sold. He said, “I honestly thought this gal was the one.” Which is why he was so confused when he got the call from her letting him know she didn’t want to pursue a relationship.
They rekindled the flame a year later when Ne’Cole reached out to Robert for some financial advice. Robert – being a financial advisor – was more than happy to help out. He was so excited, that in June he flew from California to also help my Mom with her yard! The very place, they would get married months later.
When they first met, Robert told Ne’Cole to text him the “lip” emoji when she was ready to finally commit. That day came June 15! Skip forward to September 25th, they’re getting married in my Moms back yard. Just before Ne’Cole was supposed to walk down the grass “isle” Robert said, “there was a part of me not sure if she was coming out of that house”. But she did! My mom said her favorite part of the whole day was seeing the way Robert was looking at her as she was coming towards him to get married.
Personally, my favorite part was when my Mom got sealed to Robert in the Brigham City Temple, in Utah. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, you get sealed for time and all eternity in a temple. With Covid, the temples have had more rules and at times have been shut down. So it was AMAZING to be able to be in a temple again and feel so close to God while watching my mom get sealed to my new Dad. I love them both, a lot!
